The sky has been threatening rain the entire day, but still has yet to deliver. Insert 3 prayers here for it to hold off until after my evening walk with Butter.
Eagerly looking forward to best frand time tonight over dinner and Super Nintendo. Donkey Kong or Super Mario World? This will be closely followed by sleep time. I made my bed with clean sheets this morning. T-minus 5.5 hours until I nestle into that brown sugar sweet potato goodness.

Dear Mr. Darcy (the cat),
When you lay on your back to lick your stomach you actually look like a boat. I would, however, be concerned about your buoyancy.

All I Have Is Christ
At the Desiring God National Conference this past weekend, we sang one of my favorite songs, "All I Have Is Christ," by Jordan Kauflin. The first time I heard this song I remember being so thankful and able to rejoice in all that Christ is and what He has done. The lyrics so vividly and accurately portray our utter depravity, and our lives in darkness without Christ and then transition into the grace that He's extended to us so that we might be found righteous in Him. I think the reason that I like this song so much is that it shows our dependency on Christ for everything -- that our salvation is not dependent on anything that we have done, but solely on Christ. We have much to be joyful over.
All I Have Is Christ
I once was lost in darkest night
Yet thought I knew the way
The sin that promised joy and life
Had led me to the grave
I had no hope that You would own
A rebel to Your will
And if You had not loved me first
I would refuse You still
But as I ran my hell-bound race
Indifferent to the cost
You looked upon my helpless state
And led me to the cross
And I beheld God’s love displayed
You suffered in my place
You bore the wrath reserved for me
Now all I know is grace
Hallelujah! All I have is Christ!
Hallelujah! Jesus is my life!
Now, Lord, I would be Yours alone
And live so all might see
The strength to follow Your commands
Could never come from me
Oh Father, use my ransomed life
In any way You choose
And let my song forever be
My only boast is You
Hallelujah! All I have is Christ!
Hallelujah! Jesus is my life!
All I Have Is Christ
I once was lost in darkest night
Yet thought I knew the way
The sin that promised joy and life
Had led me to the grave
I had no hope that You would own
A rebel to Your will
And if You had not loved me first
I would refuse You still
But as I ran my hell-bound race
Indifferent to the cost
You looked upon my helpless state
And led me to the cross
And I beheld God’s love displayed
You suffered in my place
You bore the wrath reserved for me
Now all I know is grace
Hallelujah! All I have is Christ!
Hallelujah! Jesus is my life!
Now, Lord, I would be Yours alone
And live so all might see
The strength to follow Your commands
Could never come from me
Oh Father, use my ransomed life
In any way You choose
And let my song forever be
My only boast is You
Hallelujah! All I have is Christ!
Hallelujah! Jesus is my life!

Raised to Walk in Newness of Life
About a month ago, I was baptized, which was something I had been eager and excited about for a long time. It was such a wonderful day, and I am so thankful and feel so blessed that I was able to share in it with those that I love and that have invested in my life for the glory of God. Thank you all so much; it meant so much to me that you were there! My church posted the videos from the baptisms on their website, so I thought that I would share it here. It's really encouraging and wonderful to see the work that the Lord is doing in his people and his church. My video is on there, but I would encourage you to watch all of the testimonies because it's wonderful to see the different ways that Jesus works in people's lives!

Romans 6:4
"We were buried therefore with him by baptism into death, in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, we too might walk in newness of life."

Psalm 121
"I lift up my eyes to the hills.
From where does my help come?
My help comes from the LORD,
who made heaven and earth.
He will not let your foot be moved;
he who keeps you will not slumber.
Behold, he who keeps Israel
will neither slumber nor sleep.
The LORD is your keeper;
the LORD is your shade on your right hand.
The sun shall not strike you by day,
nor the moon by night.
The LORD will keep you from all evil;
he will keep your life.
The LORD will keep
your going out and your coming in
from this time forth and forevermore."
